North East charity opens Tyneside Community Centre the Howdon Hub for local residents
It’s been an exciting year for Family Gateway, as we recently celebrated opening the doors to Howdon Hub, previously Howdon Community Centre, which will provide a great new resource for everyone on North Tyneside.
The building in Wallsend was previously a community resource open to all, but in recent years it had fallen into disrepair and sadly was at risk of having to close its doors.
So, being a local family charity, Family Gateway jumped at the chance to take-over the centre and bring it back to life.
We have recently opened its doors for everyone to enjoy here on Denbigh Avenue, Wallsend, NE28 0PP
Our Charity Work
Family Gateway is a charity organisation for kids and families in North and South Tyneside and Northumberland.
Every year we help over 400 families in the North East, providing vital support to children and families living in poverty in the region.
The new Family Gateway Hub @ Howdon, near Newcastle will provide a vital base for our outreach and support work, whilst also providing a resource for the whole community. The centre will host weekly events, regular activities, and will also be available for hire.
